Hedgehog Connect has a growing online preset library of over 100 free presets ready to use. With new packs coming every week.
Presets are pre-modeled 3D meshes you can get from our online library. Every preset in the databse is all quads and is prepared to work with non-subdivided and subdivided meshes.
We have two kind of presets: Stitch and Float.
Stitch presets are identified with AXB tags that represents the best polygon faces selection for the preset. When you stitch a preset to your topology it becomes a single mesh.
Float presets are only positioned on top of the selected faces of your mesh, this is ideal for baking. With this presets if you want, you'll have to stich them manually to your meshes.
NOTE: All the presets can be use with float, but if you try to stitch a preset that is not designed to do so, you might end with unexpected results.
STEP ONE
-Select the faces where you want the preset.
STEP TWO
-In the Hedgehog Connect app click on the preset.
STEP THREE
-Select the transformations you want (scale, mirror, rotate). And stitch it or float it.
We have added over a 100 presets to our library for users to use them for free. And we will be adding presets every week.
We will be adding specilized packs to our library that will only be available if you have our library subscription. You need to create an account to use them and you the pro library will be available as long as you are subscribed. You can check the subscription here.
With Hedgehog Connect you can create your own presets to use them with the tool. The presets will be saved in your computer and you can access them in the "My Presets" tab inside the app.
STEP ONE:
-Prepare your mesh by having the Z axis as the upward dimension.
STEP TWO
-Freeze all transformations
STEP THREE
-Select the edge loop that will become the reference to position your preset. This reference will help define the translation, rotation and scale when we use the tool. That is why this edge must always be aligned to the XY plane.
STEP FOUR
-Make sure you are selecting the object and on the Hedgehog Connect app click ADD. Add a name for your preset and click refresh to see it in your folder.
STEP FIVE
-Finally, you can add your own image to your preset so you can easily find it.
To edit a preset you need to click on the preset on the Hedgehog Connect app. There you can change the name and thumbnail of the preset.
If you need to change the preset object, delete the current preset and create a new one.
